Pangsinan State University Alumni Football Team Greatest Upset
A devastating loss from the PSU Alumni Football Team on the start of the second round of the pilot 7-a-side football tournament of the Pangasinan State University Football Club yesterday afternoon December 5, 2008 when they had their game with the PSU FC Varsity ending up the match with an upset score of 2-10. The Alumni Football Team of PSU FC could hardly believe that they were outgunned in the first half with a half time score of 1-5.
The match was indeed a very exciting one because of the pressure felt by the PSU FC Alumni Football Team. Runny Wapson, former 3 times PSU FC Varsity team captain was inured due to high kick of striker forward of the PSU FC Varsity, Alvin Tolentino as he tried to approach the ball in the air as he tries to clear it away from the danger zone. Wapson was accidentally kick on the face but manage to get up on his feet and stayed the rest of the match on the bench for recovery.
Omar Osana of the PSU FC varsity team was also injured when PSU Alumni Football Team defender, Kenneth Obejera sweeped offs the ball from the attacking Osana but he was not able to defend the ball and Osana converted the attack into goal. The pain was not felt by Osana when he saw the ball crossed over the goal line.
The PSU Alumni Football Team is looking forward to change strategies and tactics to defeat the Varsity team as they have been defeated twice in the tournament.
