GMA’s one of the top leading TV programs IMBESTIGADOR recently shown to the public about Lingayen’s HOT MEAT being sold in the market yesterday, May 9, 2009 inside the public market, Lingayen, Pangasinan. Mike Enriquez and his staff together with the National Bureau of Investigation, Dagupan City along with the provincial and municipal officials.

The hot meat in Lingayen which were found by the officials were estimated around 100 kilos amounting to 20,000.00 pesos. These hot meat in Lingayen should not be resold and it should be properly disposed for the safety of health of every consumer.

Mayor Ernestro “Jonas” Castaneda promised to the public that he will immediately construct a new and modern slaughter house for Lingayen after being told that the Lingayen slaughter house has not meet the requirements for sanitation and proper disposal of waste. It has been found that the Lingayen slaughter house do not have enough facilities like water supply and waste disposal management.

With these investigations made by Imbestigador, meat vendors in Lingayen public market were warned that they should also be careful in selling meat to the consumers. They should always put the safety of every consumer’s health first like selling fresh meat or else they will be imprisoned and pay certain amount for selling hot meat.

To the consumers, be careful in what you buy. Trust those sellers whom you know well. Always ask for the Meat Inspection Certificate from the meat vendor for your health safety reasons.

This is an annual festivity held in Dagupan City in honor to the Pista’y Dayat or known in English as Festivities of the Sea.
